Near flawless
The GL‑XE3000 is designed for people who need dependable mobile internet. In my experience it performs consistently well, handling workloads without any fuss (streaming video to three clients isn’t an issue) and providing robust Wi‑Fi wherever I’ve used it.Performance and BatteryOne of the standout features is its excellent battery life. It typically lasts around twelve hours, which means it comfortably covers a full day of work or a long drive. In terms of connectivity, it offered me about 450 Mbps download speeds in places where my Samsung S25 Ultra on the same network achieved only around 40 Mbps, and the GL.iNet whipped up 30mbit connection in a spot where my phone had barely enough reception to receive text messages, the 5G reception strength is exceptional.Ease of Use and FeaturesSetting up and managing the router is straightforward thanks to GL.iNet’s official app. The interface is clear and packed with options, giving you plenty of control over the connection without being complicated. I also appreciate the dual‑SIM capability and VPN support, which make it a flexible choice for travel or remote work.ConsiderationsIt isn’t a cheap device, so you’ll want to be sure you need its capabilities before investing. The router is also a little bulky and doesn’t support USB-C, so I wouldn’t take it backpacking, but it’s fine for a car or RV, or for home use in rural area where signal is weak. The only limitation I see is the power connector – it uses a round DC plug rather than USB‑C, so you can’t just use any charger you have on hand and will need to carry its own.Overall ImpressionIf you’re looking for reliable, high‑speed connectivity on the road and don’t mind its size or price, this is a strong choice. It delivers excellent performance and decent battery life, its management tools are user‑friendly too. Another aspect worth mentioning is the stability of its hardware, I did not need to power cycle it a single time, despite using it in ways I would not expect to be listed in the user manual as supported (i.e. broadcasting Wi-Fi from a zipped backpack for an entire day – worth noting that thanks to the excellent app I was able to keep an eye on its vitals and make sure it doesn’t overheat). For those who need dependable internet away from home, it’s well worth considering.

Use FLEXFONE SIM
Great productThexeet up is complex if your using a multi network sim but guidance works if you reset this product a settings are lost but it’s better than Starlink and cheaper

Absolulty Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant. I have a Smarty unlimited and a Voxi unlimited SIM in my XE3000, and the coverage and speed are simply excellent. I have used it during events, and at 2.5 settings, it allowed over 30 people to connect their phones as guests. I’m sure it would have allowed more on the network. Worth every single penny.

Fantastic Router – let down somewhat by the eSIM management section of the UI
Essentially this is a really excellent piece of equipment. If you need to travel and you want a way to access the Internet, particularly if you want to use a VPN, then I haven’t seen anything better.Under the covers it is (of course) an OpenWRT OS which is known for its reliability, and the GLiNet people have added their own user interface. This is attractive BUT…The reason I didn’t give it five stars is the ludicrously complicated and unintuitive eSIM Management part of the user interface. We are not cellular mobile experts, but we are moderately technical, and it took two of us half a day to get the recommended ‘eSIM Physical Card’ working. My advice is don’t bother trying to work out what to do – just go straight for support. And one tip – make sure the APN setting is correct. Ours was set (somewhat bizarrely) to ‘tescomobile’ or similar – where it got that from I have no idea. The correct setting to use (bicsapn) was obtained from a support operator (not sure if they were human or not). BTW, screen-grab your support conversations if you want to know what they had said to you – I found that the chat page vanished at the end of the call.In summary, I’m certainly not sorry we bought this thing – it really is excellent – I just wish they’d sort out the cellular connectivity ui.Hope this helps!

Just brilliant
Love this so much. Been using a ZTEmu5001 for the last few years but needed to upgrade and this doesn’t disappoint. Way more features than I had expected. This really does set the standard in SIM card routers.

Quick & Easy set up
First one arrived, don’t work – after two days of talking to customer support we decided to send it back, second one ordered and worked first time.

Great purchase
It is the ultimate solution for me, very high quality, very stable, and performing exactly the same on the internal battery or on power. You can chose 160 GHz if you want wider range to cover.

It’s a very unique router, with lots of features that respects consumers. It uses open wrt, and has in router self hosted vpn options using wireguard and openvpn. There’s tons of details and controls for the cellular router where you can lock towers and change bands to any CDMA/LTE/5G. Wifi performance is pretty strong (identical to the eero 6) able to hit 700-800mbps peak pretty reliably in iperf3 in the same room. (Tested with intel ax200ngw to a wired iperf3 server on LAN)Edit: Multi Wan feature on load balancing mode allows you to bond two internet connection (in my case: cellular 70-100 mbps, and broadband 75mbps) bonding together to achieve ~170 mbps. Very neat feature you can do out of the box. With cellular only vs load balancing multi-wanAs for pure cellular performance, can’t tell. As ISP only caps at 100 Mbps on 4g and 80 mbps on 5g NSA. No access to 5g SA data. The only downsides is the router is quite pricey, at $500. A little bit chunky (not pocket sized) compared to the Netgear routers; not recommend for hiking or outdoor exercise. It also only has 2 WAN/LAN RJ35 port with 1000mbps peak, not the best for primary home use router if you were to repurpose it.But the sheer amount of control you have over this router beats the competition by a whole lot. Highly recommend.

I bought this for a road trip through Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Utah and Washington. Lots of long remote stretches where my phone didn’t get any signal. However, the Puli AX paired with the Simpoyo SIM worked great and managed to always get better service at faster speeds. I also used the wifi repeater feature at hotels. It was able to handle captive logins without issue. The admin portal is easy to use. I can easily switch between cellular and wifi repeater mode. I could also turn cellular on and off to conserve data. The battery lasts 6-8 hrs and makes it very portable.
