The best MacBook in modern times
I’ve owned a MacBook Air M1 that I bought second hand (though in mint condition with 95% battery health) and found it to be quite slow in the last year. I’ve used an iPad Pro and it really does not match the same usability as a MacBook. I’ve been using the MacBook Neo and it is absolutely perfect, as long as you know what you’re using it for. Any light task such as light photo editing (not Final Cut Pro like they say on YouTube or heavy gaming) but light photo editing; Word processing; emails; Internet; YouTube; Netflix; anything like that and it is perfect.The Neo is essentially a 13 inch base iPad with a built-in keyboard, but it looks absolutely stunning. It’s really lightweight. My MacBook Air M1 was 1.29 kg and felt surprisingly heavy. My MacBook Neo weighs 1.24 kg, it’s only 50g lighter, but it feels so lightweight in the hand, which is much better. It’s so much faster too. The A18 Pro chip is the same as the iPhone 16 Pro and is really fast and it’s a very capable device.It is the best value for money and worth selling the M1 Air for in 2026! This is the best MacBook Apple has probably ever made (for non Pro users) and it is so beautiful. The silver model is much better because it has a white keyboard, it looks and is classy and premium but with a very realistic price, made even better with 5x monthly payments from Amazon UK.It’s worth getting the 256GB model without Touch ID and then if Apple upgrade it to 12GB of RAM (as according to MacRumours next year) then potentially could upgrade to that model next year, but honestly the 8GB of RAM with a 256GB of storage is more than plenty enough, though it depends on what you need it for, of course.Screen quality is absolutely beautiful. It’s so vivid, comparing it to a Windows laptop or Chromebook which normally has a really bad screen, or they have a good screen but bad keyboard and or bad trackpad. But with the Neo the trackpad is mechanical and works perfect, as you’d expect from Apple. The sound quality from the side speakers are very good, not deep-bass level, but plenty good enough, for best sound use AirPods or Headphones.All in all it’s an excellent MacBook for light to medium use. A well constructed reliable beautiful vivid screen with easy to use keyboard and well-made mechanical trackpad plus well worth purchasing. Perfect for photo editing; light video editing; admin; students or small business owners. Anybody that needs to get work done and also be entertained, but in an easy accessible format with high-quality build from Apple.

Functional and Fun
Really nice MacBook, absolutely love the bright yellow-green colour way. It was easy to set up and link straight to my Apple ID for a seamless upgrade from my old model. I only use this for everyday browsing and basic household admin so it’s perfect for me. Love the AI tool with voice command.This did not come with a charger but I got a 35W USB-C one from tesco for £12.Great affordable laptop and I hope it will last me for a few years. My old MacBooklasted nearly 7 years and never let me down.

A good Mac for half the price
Great for everyday use, a steal compared to its competitors in this price range. Great battery, really quick, good build-quality.Only 2 complaints are the lack of a keyboard light and the screen not being a touchscreen. But again, for its price, can’t complain..

Great general use MacBook
Although this is much lower spec than other 2026 MacBooks and some PCs, this is good value when you figure in the build quality. The aluminium case looks like a much more expensive laptop and, while light, it’s very solid… No creaks! The screen isn’t spec’d for graphic designers but still good quality and bright. The speakers are better than I expected. A little trebley but not horrible. No power supply included in the UK, but if like me you already have better options around the house than a 20w USB-C charger (that would end up left in the box), that’s not an issue. Perfectly snappy for general tasks and web surfing. It can apparently do some things like video editing too, but I’ve not tried yet and it’s not really aimed at that as a primary purpose. Two potential downsides. First, no backlit keyboard and the keys on the indigo are a little low contrast so if contrast is a concern, perhaps go with the silver/white keys. Second, one of the USB-C ports is USB-2, but you can charge from that and leave the USB-3 port for hard drives. I think if you want a well built web/office task machine this is great. The spec is fine for that and it seems built to last… I hope Apple keep supporting this with MacOS updates for a good few years.

A true MacBook, quality, well built and one of the easiest MacBooks to fix (or change battery on).Apple designed the chip, the memory, the OS, and the apps together, so 8GB of unified RAM on Apple silicon performs more like 16GB on a typical budget laptop. The A18 Pro inside the Neo actually beats the bestselling laptop by 50% in everyday tasks, and it’s up to 3× faster for AI and 2× faster for photo editing apparently. 👌The A18 Pro’s single‑core performance is on par with the M4, and its GPU supports hardware ray tracing, mesh shading, and AV1 decoding some features you don’t get on other cheap laptops.In tests the Single‑core Neo hits 3461, blowing past the M1 Air’s 2346. Impressive.If I had to buy it again I would.I purchased the Citrus colour and it’s beautiful and in some lights can look green or yellow.Oh and if it helps – you can absolutely play the Sims on it!

Super value with high end Apple quality. You need to feel and use it to realise how good this is. Only snag the EU wont let Apple put a charger in the box so you will need to buy a decent 80W charger unless you have one., cheap phone chargers are not powerfull enough.

Believe the hype a truly wonderful piece of kit…as an ordinary un-techy person I haven’t or am able to test it’s credentials to the max but for most people it is perfect and solid unlike plastic laptops that creak and take FOREVER to boot up.Screen quality is awesome, speed great, weight, not bad and battery life ok.Apple are on to a winner….never thought I would have a MacBook….Now they need to produce a iPhone that isn’t ridiculously expensive and they will have conquered the world.
