I use a Winnes data SIM card instead of my own, as I found out from the product description that Giffgaff and EE SIM cards do not work properly with the upgraded 4G 905 device.The Winnes data SIM card costs just £4.99 per month. Read my updated opinion at the bottom before buying the low grade battery version of this tracker.I had a Winnies 3G GPS tracker for many years until 3G got discontinued. I have now bought the 4G version of the same tracker. This is a fab tracker with a very easy to use app. You can set speed alarms (at any speed of your choice eg 70 mph if on the motorway) to make sure you don’t accidentally speed, you can set motion alarms, you can set driving alarms. You set them with a toggle switch on the app and can change them as often as you wish. You can set a ringfence so the alarm goes off on your phone if the car leaves a certain area. The phone alarm is loud and unmistakable. If you get caught speeding and disagree, you can pull up this data and show that you were not speeding – it is kept for 180 days I believe, and I have done this once in the past when there was a faulty speed camera. I feel secure knowing that if anyone steals or tries to tamper with my car, an alarm will go off on my phone.I combined this tracker with a 1gb per month SIM rolling contract from Lebara which is only £1.58 per month, making it very affordable. This is the cheapest SIM I could find (new years special deal, so keep an eye out for other special offers), so it is worth hunting around to see what deals you can get. Lebara runs off Vodafone. It is working perfectly.To log into the app you enter your tracking device number and the PIN code is the last 4 digits of the tracking device. You can then change this. You enter your ‘admin number’ as your own mobile phone number, so that the tracker knows where to send the alerts. Super easy. Takes 5 minutes to set up. The unit is off if there is no SIM card, once the SIM card is in the unit is permanently on. Needs recharging every couple of months.There is a support number and support email address that comes in the instructions, and they are super quick to respond to emails with queries.UPDATE OPINION after 9 days of light use : I thought I had bought the same tracker as before. My 3G tracker had a 3 month battery life. The 4G tracker I have bought has a rubbish battery life by comparison, and I can now see that they sell 2 versions of it, one which is 5,000 battery, and the other which is 10,000 battery. I bought the 5,000 battery by accident as it was a ‘deal of the day’ which I can see now is only marginally cheaper and quite frankly the battery life on it is utterly useless. It will need recharging every 3 weeks, whereas my previous one was only recharged every 3 months. Save yourself the hassle, pay £10 more and get double the battery life. If I had realised the company did 2 different versions of the same tracker, I would never have bothered buying this low battery life one. The company are cheating themselves by putting out a tracker with such a poor battery life. I am extremely disappointed. It feels like a waste of money, and sooner or later I will have to buy the one with 10k battery life because 5k battery life is simply pointless. I drive for 20 minutes per day and its already down to 70% battery. If you drive for longer the battery will be depleted within days of recharging.Update after 18 days use. The battery has now died completely. It lasted less than 3 weeks with a total of 20 minutes driving each day. The battery is utterly useless. Only buy the one with a 10000 battery, do not bother with the 5000 battery. I am not even sure why they sell it tbh. If you drive for a couple of hours each day the battery will be dead within a week.Update after 26 days: the battery now lasts only 4 days, 3 of those days the car was standing still, the 4 day it drove for 20 minutes. It is on battery saving setting. I only have vibration alarm on I do not even have the moving alarm on. Battery saver when not moving is also activated. I cannot recommend this product at all. The battery is worse than useless. Maybe it was a bad batch but I am now going to see if I can return it and buy something else. Sad, because I was a big believer in this tracker.

IT WORKS_ NOT EASY TO SETUP
I purchased this to replace a very old tracker that had ceased to work. It works, and uses the TK Star software. I am a bit green regarding technology and had expected to fit my GiffGaff sim from my old device and it would work. My assumption was wrong. I ended up watching utube videos, reading set up on line instructions for similaril devices and after several attempts and factory resets, It burst into life. The initial problem was the SMS message was working but it would not talk to the wimmes app. I think I was thrown a curved ball putting the giffgaff card into a phone said I was on the O2 network. It’s a shame the suppliers dont provide clear concise instructions giving set up format for apn and phone numbers etc as used in the UK. In my opinion the provided set up instructions are confusing – This is only the second tracker I have set up in about 5 years, I got there in end and In all fairness it works, and I am pleased with it

Der Tracker ist Super. Lange Akkulaufzeit von 3-4 Monaten. Wenn man sich an die Anleitung hält, dann ist das Einrichten kein Problem. Auch die App ist zu empfehlen.
