Excellent Value QLED TV with Great Performance and Everyday Usability
Review:The TCL 55P7K-UK 55″ QLED 4K Ultra HD HDR Google TV has been one of the most worthwhile purchases I’ve made in recent years. I use it heavily every day, streaming from multiple OTT platforms, and it consistently delivers a smooth, enjoyable viewing experience.Pros:Impressive picture quality for the price: The QLED panel produces vibrant colors, deep blacks, and solid contrast, especially when paired with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content.Smooth and responsive interface: For a TV in this price range, menu navigation and app loading are pleasantly quick. Switching between streaming apps is seamless, with no noticeable slackness or input delay during regular use.Generous 55-inch screen size: Perfect for a medium to large living room, providing an immersive experience without overpowering the space.Screen condition: Arrived perfectly intact with no dead pixels, scratches, or panel defects, the packaging was well done.Google TV integration: Having Google Assistant built-in is a big plus for voice search and smart home control. Freeview Play also makes accessing live and catch-up TV easy without extra subscriptions.Dolby Atmos audio: While it won’t replace a dedicated sound system, the built-in speakers deliver clear and well-balanced audio that’s good enough for casual viewing.Customisation potential: For those who like to tweak, enabling certain Developer Options significantly boosted interface speed and flexibility. With these optimisations, it feels like a TV in the £1,000+ category.Cons:Remote could be more premium: It works fine, but the build quality and button feel are basic compared to high-end TVs.Speakers are good but not cinematic: For richer bass and a fuller soundstage, pairing with a soundbar is recommended.Additional Notes:This TV handles all major streaming platforms — Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube — without noticeable lag or buffering (on a stable internet connection). The panel’s anti-glare coating works well in bright rooms, and the slim bezels keep the design clean and modern.Final Verdict:If you want a 55-inch QLED with strong performance, HDR support, smart features, and customisation options without paying premium-brand prices, this model is a fantastic choice. Out of the box, it’s already good, but with a few tweaks, it becomes outstanding for the money.

Good TV for the price, but has some issues.
After owning this model (43P7-UK) for a month or so, I can say without doubt that this television isn’t bad at all. Not for the price, at least.Out of the box, it feels exactly like you would expect. It is a relatively light unit with cheap feeling plastic and a remote that feels equally cheap but intuitively functional. The included stands feel like ABS plastic, which has a gloss finish, and the included wood-type screws secure them to the television very well. There isn’t a single aesthetic thing about this television that oozes quality, unfortunately, but what we really only care about is its performance, both visually and audibly. The setup of the television is very simple. The OS is Google TV, so if you’re someone who uses an Android device, you know just how simple it can be. Other than this, there are a few other setup menus to go through, mostly related to regions and channel setup, but other than that, there really isn’t much to talk about here.As with pretty much every television in all price brackets, the internal speakers will never be as good as having even the most average of sound bars. On this particular unit, the sound quality is equal to that of a mid to lower high range laptop. It isn’t terrible, but you wouldn’t want to watch a movie with the speaker’s clear limitations in quality and delivery.Picture quality is pretty good overall. The images are sharp, clarity is clear, and the options for adjusting each picture mode so you can fine-tune it are pretty good, too. As with most smart televisions, you have pretty much all of the top streaming services available to download, if not already pre-installed, and this is where this model shows some weakness. There are some issues with ghosting when watching some streaming content. I don’t know if this is an issue with it being just streaming content because I haven’t tried to watch anything via a secondary source, using my PS5, for example, that has shown this. I can say that for gaming, i haven’t seen anything that stands out anywhere near as much because this model has VRR or Variable Refresh Rate, so ghosting is far less noticeable. In this regard, I would say that it is at least as quick as the PC monitor i used to use. With all of that being said, however, I have experienced some issue with image quality, which I have not been able to verify if it is a bug in the software or a hardware issue. The issue I’m having is when I turn the television on, sometimes I get a series of random lines across the screen. Artifacts are what I would describe them as, and they are something traditionally experienced when a graphics card in a PC begins to overheat or is failing in some way. It goes away when you hold the power button down on the remote and tell the television to restart, but it has happened a few times, and it is completely random when it happens. It is enough that I am considering sending it back for a replacement and seeing if it is just my specific unit or if it is something that requires an update from TCL.As for TCL, their support page isn’t great at the moment. I did a search on their site for my specific model, and nothing came up in their lists. This is annoying because this television is a fairly new model from them, so either they haven’t updated their website and support, or more unlikely, it may already have become an unsupported product.Overall, this model sat okay in the price vs. features bracket because the intended use for my specific unit is purely for gaming. It does this fairly well, and coupled with its 4K capabilities, playing games hasn’t looked so good prior. However, there are some things that you should take into consideration, such as TCL’s support page seemingly not having this model listed and the cheapness of its look and feel.If you are fine with all of that then it may be worth a look. Personally, I’m sending mine back because I don’t know if what i am experiencing is a hardware issue which could get worse over time.

    Total bargain!
I paid £249 for this TV and for that amount it’s amazing. It’s very light so easy to hang I’m the wall.Boots up fast and has an excellent picture and pretty good sound. Being a Google TV it allows you to use your phone to control it. Streaming and casting is super easy. Everything has just worked.

Immersive picture quality. Best Qled for the price. No adaptive 120Hz on full HD.Works smooth with 60Hz too but 120Hz would have been nice specially if it’s mentioned in description.Packaging and delivery on time

There is a green line on screen, missing per cable. It was dirty with sand in it. The screen display is visible only if you sit infront off it, from side angles it’s compromised
