One of the most heartwarming remasters in a while
Battle for bikini bottomReviewI love this remaster. I don’t see why gaming journalists hate it so much it’s a fun and kid friendly platformer using the Spongebob licensing. Now I have never experienced the OG Battle for bikini bottom on Xbox and PS2 but as this is my first actual thoughts on the game as playing through thisThe story is simple enough and easy to follow plankton unleashes a robot army which immediately disobeys him immediately.It’s up to spongebob, sandy and Patrick to stop the robots who are out of control and bring order to bikini bottomGraphically this game is fantastic. I never seen such a colourful and vibrant remaster in a while. It’s even Spyro Reignited quality as it is running on the unreal 4 engine which is the same as the spyro remaster.It’s such a site looking at all of the objects and items in my view and just going “Wow” its really a wonderful site to look at.Gameplay wise it’s pretty much the exact same as BFBB you play as three charactersSpongebob, sandy and PatrickAll three play differently and are great for certain situationsSpongebob has a standard attack ability like a jelly fishing net to attack the robotic horde and also has a slam ability. I can pretty much compare him to the character Jak from the original Jak and DaxterPatrick is the second character who you can play as and hes pretty much like spongebob apart from that he can lift heavy objects like watermelons to break down paths which you originally cannot access as spongebob and use ice cubes to freeze water areas spongebob couldn’t originally access.Sandy is the third and she one of the best to play as as she can use her famous cowboy rope to swing from these Texas shaped symbols to get to other areas which spongebob and patrick cant access.You can unlock other abilities by playing through the game like a bowling ball ability for spongebobThe open world of BFBB reminds me alot of the first Jak and Daxter game as you collect golden spatulas which is the games version of precursor orbs where you need enough of them to face the final boss similar to that of the collecting dragon eggs from spyro and as I’ve said precursor orbs from Jak and DaxterThere is a multiplayer mode which wasnt in the original release of BFBB but it’s just a simplistic wave after wave survival game.It was probably added because of replay value but its there if you want to try itMy other complaint is that the hit detection is slightly off I noticed it alot more when I was playing as patrick but if only happens when their is too many enemies close to you or if you attack right at the last second when the enemy is firing up their attack it’s like a 50/50 situation if your attacks will landAnother complaint is that Mr Krabs isnt voiced by clancy brown. I dont know why they couldn’t of got him to record lines but it’s not clancy brown and sounds like a poor imitation of himFinal ThoughtsSpongebob battle for bikini bottom didnt deserve the hate it got by IGN and GamespotIf you live the spongebob IP this will be great for you and you’ll have a heartwarming and nostalgic adventure with spongebob and gangI give spongebob Battle for bikini bottom rehydrated a8.8/10

Great game.
Fun, innocent, well structured game with challenging moments. Only complaint is that the voices of some of the characters, such as Mr Krabs and Mermaid man, are different to the show but the game is grade A excellence.

Too short and multiplayer is terrible
Played the og one on ps2 and I am happy with the graphics. Only problem is if you are a gamer the game took me around 12 to 18 hours gameplay until I completed the game to 100 percent. Really good game for nostalgia however if you are older than 10 years old than after 1 or 2 days it will just be another game to sit on the unplayed stack. Usually getting 100 percent trophies is longer but honestly wish I kept my 20 pounds and just watched gameplay instead. If you’re buying for a child, it’s a perfect game due to the colours and storyline being very kid friendly.Overall I wish I waited for prices to be less than 10 pounds because 1 day of gameplay is not worth 25 pounds.

Fab game but so frustrating
Fantastic game. Really fun but just bare in mind it’s actually pretty difficult considering it’s rated a 7 years old game. Its so frustrating and you will want to throw the controller at the tv sometimes.

It must not be compatible with all PS4’s. You shouldn’t have to download special programs in order to run it.

Je suis un fan depuis les premières heures même si avec le décès de son père (Stephen hillenburg) il le transforme un petit peu trop en personnage façon TeX avery et on dirait qu’ils veulent le faire devenir terrestre ou on le voit avec un chat, piloter un hélico ou bien aller dans l’espace avec toutes la bande. Non ils veulent maintenant le faire devenir trop moderne rapidement et moi personnellement je le préfère comme à c’est début c’est à dire au fond des océans
