    brilliant scope and zoom camera
Just what I wanted. To have a reasonable monocular (9 x) and the ability to capture and stabilise the image. When the zoom photo is combined with the phone’s ability to digitally zoom a further 10x, although the image is poor at this level, it is quite an extraordinary thing to have. I have abandoned my binoculars and monoculars and just carry this. Disadvantages are the need to always use the dedicated charger, the battery life if used for more than an hour is poor, but all in all, I love it

Does what I expected and more
Personally I find this fine. I bought it new at £199. The Bluetooth transfer of images works fine and it has taken some good pictures. Clearly a dedicated camera will be better, but this fits in your pocket and makes a useful monocular too! I have no regrets at all.

Beware – charging the camera is an issue but there is a fix
The camera comes with a USBA – USB-C cable but, if you use this to plug the camera into a typical wall plug adaptor, it will not charge. I tried to charge the camera using multiple cables plus 2 different USB-output chargers. None of them worked. I assumed the camera was faulty. After 2 calls to Canon, the support rep. told me to send it to the Service centre. I duly did that and got the camera back with a report which said ‘we charged the camera and it worked’ without any explanation of why i couldn’t get it to charge. After a lot of research on the net, I found that (a) the charger needs to have a minimum output of 18W (other lower figures are given), (b) I could solve the problem by buying a power pack with 22.5 W output https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FCLL8KGB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title and a usb-c to usb-c cable (usb-a doesnt seem capable of carrying enough power) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F6VPF2FB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleThe camera works fine and I can now charge it but Canon deserve 0/10 for (a) not including a charger that works (b) not getting their support processes and documentation sorted out to tell people about this issue.

    Very useful kit
Very happy with this. I use it on bike rides and holidays when walking. More comfortable to carry than my bridge camera and camcorder in my pocket and with a steady function better than binoculars etc

Not that easy to use one handed
It’s not easy to use with one hand- which I bought it for. Ended up resting it against my forehead to steady it while pressing the buttons.

    Easy to use
Light weight and easy to use, links with canon phone app easily and very straight forward. The photos can appear a bit grainy on the device, but when down loaded, they look pretty good. Shame it’s not a little waterproof, but overall it is a nice bit of kit.

    Excellent pocket camera
Ideal to carry around in your pocket and zoom in on birds and other distant objects. Initially setting the camera up and the bluetooth connection are a little tedious and slow but the photographic results, when viewed on a tablet or computer are excellent

    Avoid
Where can I start to say how terrible this product is? I don’t leave many reviews but for public service, I am writing this. As someone else wrote, great idea just very poor in execution. To me it has one, very useful purpose and that is to assist in bird identification. But I have never had a single session without issues. Apart from pathetic battery life, here are my issues (this is more or less sequential):Freezing for no apparent reason.Flashing light (yellow) followed by rapid yellow-orange with nothing online or in the generic Canon help to indicate the reason.Much searching online to find a factory reset button combination which finally pulled it out of the yellow-orange frozen state.Error message onscreen with a number but then vague “requires service” text. Canon help simply rubbish for actually saying what the code they assigned might actually mean.Random reset of date so photos are incorrectly tagged.Waiting a day or two seems to help the thing start working again. But I won’t start on the Canon Connect application! All in all a waste of money, and I have doggedly been trying to use it for weeks.
