Powerful | Pricey | Effective & speedy
As a quick anecdote, last year, I decided to try making my own sausages with a milestone birthday BBQ coming up (at the time). Because I didn’t think I’d use a machine often, at that time I opted for one of those terrible – but cheap – hand-crank versions. Let’s just say things didn’t go to plan; much meat was wasted, tempers were frayed, and the sausages idea was abandoned.That was last year – and if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that you either need five hands for a manual grinder or simply shouldn’t bother with a manual grinder and should get a powered machine instead. Then, recently, this machine came up for reviewing and as I’d had my eye on something like this for a while, I decided to try it out.Quite why I didn’t invest in one last year I do not know – even if only for occasional usage – because having a powered grinder makes a whole world of difference. This is easy-to use, powerfully quick – surprisingly so the first time of using – and actually makes you want to use it (unlike a hand crank). Whilst my primary desire is to finally make those Italian sausages, I now have a whole new world of being able to mince my own ingredients, such as cheaper cuts of beef.Assembling and disassembling the parts needed is easy and everything cleans easily too. Hygiene is crucial when making sausages so having easy to cleabn utensils is a must. As is sharp cutting discs. It’s here where I realised just how bad last year’s hand machine was. The discs supplied here are still not premium, but a heck of a lot closer to premium than those cheap machines. When backed up by the 3KW motor, you can imagine how easy things are to mince, grind, and stuff!This was £130 at the time of requesting but is currently unavailable on this listing. I do see it for similar (or higher) prices here on Amazon so I susepct £130 to be a fairly average price point. It’s a lot for occasional usage, however, it will pay for itself the more you use it.

Found the meat grinder to work well and easy to use, found the grater side not quite as straight forwards had to try each of the blades to achieve the results I wanted, would appreciate more instruction regarding the grater. overhaul found the product to be of excellent standards.

Not sent all the extras 😡
Just arrived today and already I have a problem. Only 1 of the blades and only one of the grinding plates medium. Wanted to do so much with this today. Over all the rest looks ok apart from the plate on top is a bit flimsy for the price I paid.😡

Well it’s a great machine, it does work well because of the stainless plates as they don’t deform so right there it’s a great entry level grinder.The machine is very loud however – be careful with city apartments that have paper walls. Beware if you live in similar situations as it can wake the dead and then some.You also need to pay attention to cleaning and drying immediately after use or it will become unsanitary later down the line. But this is the case with any meat kitchen tool eh? Cleaning sucks on this version however as you cannot use a dishwasher on the parts and all must be hand cleaned. Still small price to pay for a good grinder at this price point.For me I do sausages so the grinder needs to be able to handle mixed goods as we say. I don’t want to hand stuff blueberries into my bison sausages not in a million years. So in everything goes to the grinder and glad to say it handled the task perfectly. (yes bison, blueberry is utterly fantastic!) It also did hard cheese and pork perfectly as well, so there isn’t any issues doing straight meat or mixed cuts or foods in my quick test.I like it so far and it cut my prep work down a bunch!
