Specs from 2010
When I ordered this product, I had absolutely no idea what it was. But being a lover of surprises, I couldn’t resist. What could it be, this item described as “TalkCeLL Portable Rechargeable Accessories with a Compact Design (Green)”? The accompanying photo was of a phone charger, and the description was nonsensical…Well, it turns out that this is a very cheap smart phone. VERY cheap. Yet more capable than my first smartphone from 2010.As you would expect, the specs are quite laughable by today’s standards:• 1 GB RAM• 16 GB storage (10GB available)• Android 10• IPS LCD screen (with terrible viewing angles)• Micro USB portBut it does feature a headphone jack, FM radio, removable battery, dual SIM capability, expandable storage (micro SD card), which I welcome.According to the printing on the back of the phone, it had four cameras. I can assure you that this claim is bogus. As confirmed by the booklet, there are two cameras, both reportedly 8MP, one each on the front and rear. Needless to say, they are extremely low quality.Other points to note:POSITIVES:• Navigation is via the three hardware buttons – there is no gesture navigation.• No software bloat – Google apps are all the ‘Go’ variants, designed for low-spec phones.• No setup required – ready to use out of the box.NEGATIVES:• Icons lifted from Samsung.• Startup chime lifted from LG• Time zone set to Beijing.• Keyboard is unresponsive in the lower corners.• Very slow charging• Short battery lifeFor £20, it makes a decent portable MP3 player / FM radio. But as a smart phone? It’s just too slow, and the keyboard frustratingly unresponsive, and the specs woefully sub-par.
Living by the sea –
Surprisingly nippy and lasts all day
Item received in good condition in a small branded box and well packaged. Since it arrived, the Note 60 has settled into our household without any drama. I needed a back-up phone for sandy jogs, muddy dog walks and, inevitably, the twins’ Peppa Pig crises, this compact five-inch handset manages the lot and never drags my shorts down from its weight.Even under fierce seaside sun the HD display stays clear, the modest MTK6580 processor, helped along by a single gigabyte of RAM, keeps WhatsApp chats and Strava tracking plodding on without stutters. Two SIM slots let me keep the office number alive while still checking Saturday’s cricket score, and with a sixty-four-gigabyte card sitting beside the built-in sixteen I have more than enough space for motorway playlists and an embarrassing number of toddler photographs. The battery is the unexpected star, that 3,500 mAh pack cheerfully lasts from a dawn run to the evening bedtime story, Bluetooth buds, maps and the occasional YouTube lullaby included, and it still shows roughly twenty-five per cent when I plug it in. Both five-megapixel cameras are perfectly serviceable for snaps of the dog harassing seagulls or the girls’ sandcastles.Steady performance, acceptable photos and a battery that refuses to quit make this a straightforward solid purchase at the price.
All good, –
Brilliant value backup phone
Bought the Note 60 as a rough and ready back-up for days when I am surrounded by paint splatter or clouds of sawdust. Its five inch HD display is bright enough for me to follow a recipe while steam curls up from the hob, yet small enough to vanish into the pocket of my scrubs. Android 9 is refreshingly uncluttered, and paired with 1 GB of RAM opens WhatsApp, Google Maps and BBC Sport without a grumble. I run two SIM cards, one for practice calls and one for family, which spares my wife from fielding patients at supper time. A. The 3,500 mAh battery sails from the morning clinic to late-night scrolling with plenty left in the tank. Both cameras capture crisp daylight shots, perfect for pinging quick updates to grandparents. Solid build, battery is really long lasting, decent speed and generous storage add up to excellent value.

works well
Setup was quick and simple, even for someone not very technical. Screen is clear and comfortable to use for messages, calls and browsing. Performance is smooth for daily tasks without annoying delays. Battery lasts well through the day. Handy option for using two numbers at the same time, making it practical for work and personal use. Size feels comfortable in the hand and easy to carry around.
