At first I thought the bottom section was wrong, and like an idiot I kept trying to figure out how it was supposed to protect everything even though it stopped short of covering the entire bottom, as the top had gone on without a hitch and fit as it should, creatively covering the entire top of the MacBook Pro.
So I went back to the listing page, and looked closer at the provided photos, and sure enough, low and behold – it was intended to stop short, so as to avoid covering up/impinging on any part of the back vent – which admittedly should of made sense beforehand, but in my defence there are vent slots all along the bottom in the plastic to help dissipate heat so didn’t occur to me, at first, that they were for any residual heat.
Overall it matched the image on the listing, fit my model perfectly as promised, and even the included clear protector for the touch pad, which was a nice adder, fit exactly right and didn’t change its sensitivity, so everything seemed really great with this purchase ….-but- .. unless you are a very proficient typist, who needs no actual visual of the keyboard, – having matching graphics put on the silicone keyboard cover, for the most part, obliterates the identification of the keys, as white lettering, for the keys, was used over a lighter large whitish gray background area, throughout the middle on both sides, and all along down to the bottom right side.
Overall impression: Designed more for scratch and dent protection, rather than protect from a drop from on high.
It does what it promised to do, although dropping the MacBook Pro to the ground was not tested. To me it is attractive, and when closed tends to look like a piece of art, that easily differentiates it from any other MacBook Pros that might be set to charge near it. I like how the included touch pad protector prevents any scratching, and truthfully having the keypad cover not usable by me, isn’t a big deal (and it did fit the keyboard exactly), and the price was right for me to be able to keep my Mac looking new for longer. – Would likely buy again.
